About Caribe NZ - The Product & The People

Caribe Inflatables have been producing top quality RIBS for over 20 years. In that time Caribe have been pioneers in adopting and developing such features as deep V hulls, multiple air chambers, large diameter tubes and internal fuel tanks, which have set the industry standard. They have also developed the RIB for multiple uses: for the cruising yachtsman, sports diver, water-skier, sailing schools, commercial & military uses and Superyachts.

All of our tenders employ the use of only the best materials: All tubes are of Hypalon/neoprene, which is a superior product combining excellent UV protection and resistance against fuels and solvents, and very tough against abrasion. Our hulls are of GRP, which is durable, easy to maintain and repair, impact resistant, and provides a smoother, quieter ride than the alloy equivalents.

Caribe tenders have been employed for many years by the biggest bareboat charter companies in the world, including Moorings and Sunsail in the Caribbean, and these boats suffer the rigours of harsh sunlight, frequent mishandling by inexperienced users, and yet still they stand the test of time and give many years of quality enjoyment.

Fred and Vicki have been sailing around the world for the last 17 years, for many of those years they sailed on there own cruising boat and always had Caribe tenders. They found that they survived the test of severe weather conditions from the tropics to Alaska and NZ and many years of daily hard use. they never had problems with the Hypalon tubes and were always glad to have the GRP hulls with its strength and durability. As years went by it became clear that more and more of the blue water sailors were turning to Caribe for their tender of choice and now a very large number of all cruising yachts prefer and use Caribe inflatables.

As well as cruising around the world Fred and Vicki ran several super yachts as Captain and Chef, including the 40m NZ built 'Victoria of Strathearn' and 45m Royal Huisman 'Cyclos III' whilst on the big boats they discovered that Caribe also make fantastic tenders for the superyacht fleet with great hull designs,very functional layouts, presentable and durable boats with all the mod cons for the up market yachty; ski poles, showers, comfortable upholstery, rod holders etc. Combine this with global service centers they make the best choice for blue water sailors.
